Our Fleet

All our aircraft are in excellent flying condition and fly hundreds of hours a year. Under the watchful eye of our Chief Mechanic, they are meticulously inspected every 100 hours, in accordance with FAA regulations.

Citabria 7ECA

With our primary focus on tailwheel training, at the core of our fleet are two Citabria 7ECAs. The 7ECA is a joy to fly, and one of the best trainers ever developed. To quote one report, “The Citabria will teach you about flying without demanding that you be an ace, but it will make an ace out of you without you even realizing the fact.” Both our Citabrias rolled off the factory floor in the 1970s, but each one has been completely rebuilt and upgraded. Each has a modern avionics suite and N50428 can even be used for instrument training. Meanwhile, N313CE boasts all digital instruments (not a gyro in sight!), making it perfect for spin training and upset recovery work. One of our airplanes have toe brakes, while the other has heel brakes, giving our students the opportunity to experience both. To find out more about each plane, click on the photos below.

WACO YMF-5C

Stick and Rudder School also has a beautiful 2000 WACO YMF-5C. In addition to giving aerial tours (see SuncoastBiplanes.com), N89ML is available for dual instruction, including flight reviews. Click on the photo below to find out more.
