Barry Sutton

Originally from Michigan, Barry now lives with his wife, Jeannie, in Buckingham, FL. A highly experienced flight instructor with over 30 years of experience, Barry has logged over 26,000 flight hours, including over 9,000 hours dual given in tailwheel alone.

Gareth Williams

Born and raised in the UK, Gareth’s earliest flying experiences were with the Air Training Corps. After soloing a glider when he was 17, Gareth’s passion for aviation lay dormant for several years, crowded out by the busy-ness of a demanding consulting career and raising a young family. Soon after moving to the USA in 2001, he took a Discovery Flight in a Cessna 150, and as the saying goes, the rest is history. Over the past 20 years he has flown numerous GA airplanes, his favorite being a Boeing Stearman he owned for several years and flew coast-to-coast. Through the nonprofit Fly-Hope-Dream, Gareth provided charitable flights to almost 200 people battling with post-traumatic stress. Now with significantly more tailwheel time than tricycle gear, his passion is introducing others to the magic of taildraggers. Gareth is married to Joy and they live in Lake Suzy, FL.

Joy Williams

Joy is originally from the Finger Lakes region of NY and spent much of the last two decades in Lancaster, PA. After many years as Operations Manager for an online classical school, she now handles all the logistics and scheduling at Stick and Rudder School. In addition to keeping Gareth and Barry in order, she is on point at Lakeview, ensuring our guests have the best possible experience.
